Molly F. Gordon, PhD is a senior research scientist at NORC at the University of Chicago. Her recent work has focused on the educator workforce including school principal pipelines and how school leaders impact student outcomes. Recently she served as the principal investigator (PI) on a study funded by the Institute of Educational Sciences (IES), investigating the principal pipeline in Chicago and across the state of Tennessee with colleagues from Vanderbilt University, University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, and the UChicago Consortium on School Research (the Consortium). She is currently the PI on a National Science Foundation (NSF) funded grant examining school teacher recruitment and retention practices in rural districts across the state of Illinois. She specializes in writing policy and practitioner friendly research briefs and reports with actional insights. Dr. Gordon has published numerous book chapters as well as peer-reviewed articles published in Journal of American Education, International Journal of Leadership in Education, American Journal of Education, and Educational Administrative Quarterly. She received her PhD in Education Policy and Administration from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.
