Jessica Rendon is an early care and education researcher who recently received her PhD from American University's Department of Public Administration and Policy. In her dissertation, she focused on issues related to the child care workforce and child care subsidy policies. Specifically, she estimated the effects of state minimum wage increases on the child care market, examined associations between reimbursement rates and child care workforce wages, and described early care and education labor market trends, including what occupations ECE workers turn to when they leave the profession. She is currently an analyst with the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation at the Department of Health and Human Services.
